A group of bloggers (bloggeros) and I are here for Nokia world. Here= Bar-the-lona. For the duration of this trip I have decided to change the name of this publication to the “Bloggerro Insider” Let’s face it “Bloggero” is so much cooler than “Blogger” and in a land of leather boots and sangria- any term that ends in “ero” has instant cred in my book (ok maybe not sombrero)
In my jet-lagged haze I met the group for a drink prior to their dinner.

I am happy to report that I have now met the symbian guru now in person. During the drink, I was advised by Darla Mack that the best (or perhaps most distrubing) thing I could do tonight was write about Ricky Cadden’s choice of hatware- hmmm Frank Sinatra meets a pack of wild rockabillies is the only way I can describe it.
For whatever it’s worth. I applaud you Ricky. Bloggeros need to feel free to express themselves however they it feel appropriate- even if it does look like you were a bit late to Darla’s fedora party.
stay tuned for more news from the Bloggerro insider! including stories from inside tomorrow’s crazy lunchtime paella party. That’s right bloggers and paella….an unheard of pairing brought to you by Nokia World.

Hey all,
I’m back from sunny california into the wild cold of NYC. To clear up a couple rumors involving Nokia and alien assistance. While we may have some aliens of extraordinary abilities on staff, there were no aliens involved in the construction of the morph pictured below–it was (gasp) a mock up, but I dare say an exciting little plastic contraption. I did however, on the drive back 101 hear some interesting sounds coming from Moffett Field….
Just preparing for Nokia World which promises to be a technological tapas-filled adventure.
For those of you attending, do look me up!

I’m at a Nokia Event now called The Way We Live Next. Just heard Henry Tirri speak about our future. Crazy stuff. Did you know that by 2010 there will be more mobile handsets than toothbrushes in the world?

Now a word about Rich Context Modeling (brought to you by your sponsor- the very small but present right brain in Molly’s head)- No it’s not hosted by Tyra Banks, it’s basically a way of interacting in the real world where you move around and information is relevant based on your dynamic context rather than a fixed location. Basically my device understanding what I need based on where I am and what I’m doing.
This concept is made a reality by cognitive radio- a radio which senses every possible bandwidth. Henry made the analogy of packing a suitcase to explain this- if you use every possible nook (say the inside of a shoe for socks) you end up with a lot more space than you though possible. In the same way, cognitive radio makes use of all available bandwidths.
He also spoke of combining technologies such as traffic sensors with calendar information – for example have your calendar alarm go off earlier if the traffic conditions are bad, then have a program in your device suggest an alternate route.
I think I need an alarm that senses when I’m procrastinating..
